Savannah Metts
Girls Varsity Head Coach
Coach Metts enters her 14th year of coaching and her first season as Head Girls Basketball Coach at Lone Star High School. She has spent the past 11 years in Frisco ISD serving as a varsity assistant coach, contributing to several successful postseason runs, including multiple playoff berths and deep regional tournament appearances.
A Dallas native and 2004 graduate of Lake Highlands High School, Metts was a multi-year letterwinner before continuing her playing career at the junior college level. She later earned a full athletic scholarship to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, where she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. While at TWU, she also served as a graduate assistant coach.
Outside of basketball , Coach Metts loves spending time with her family.
Ashley Watts
Girls Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Watts joins Lone Star as the Varsity Assistant Girls basketball coach. She is a former Frisco ISD student having attended Liberty High School in 2006. She has over a decade of coaching experience, including years at the high school and collegiate levels. She also spent time coaching military youth sports while her husband was an active duty sergeant in the Army. Coach Watts likes to focus heavily on the defensive side of basketball and looks forward to making her impact on the program. She teaches Business and Finance at Lone Star.
Chasity Boyce
Girls JV Coach
Coach Boyce grew up in a small town named Vernon but raised in South Carolina. She graduated from Vernon HS in 2012. She then went to Midwestern State University to get her bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies Mathematics 4-8 and her Masters' in Educational Leadership with a principal certification. She is in her 9th year of teaching and 1st year at Lone Star HS where she will be teaching Algebra 1. Coach Boyce enjoys being with her family, binge watching series and working out whenever possible.
Kentrall Brooks
Girls Freshman Coach
Coach Brooks is a Dallas native who attended and played football at Dallas Skyline High School. Coach Brooks attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX where he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant. While at SFA they won back-to-back Southland Conference titles and led the nation in passing attempts, yards, and touchdowns. After graduating college and moving back to the DFW area, he spent 6 years at Duncanville High school coaching QBs and RBs. While at Duncanville, he coached in back-to-back state title games before leaving to become the offensive coordinator at Eastern Hills High School. He served as the offensive coordinator for 4 years before joining the Lone Star staff as the WRs coach. Coach Brooks is married to his beautiful wife Shannon and they have 2 wonderful kids together.
